Gas generator apparatus according to Kipp, 500 ml capacity
The system consists of three spherical tanks. The upper one is where the liquid placed, and is connected to the lower one, which is where the solid goes through a tube. The gas formed accumulates in the intermediate one, and leads to a valve to extract it. When the stopcock is closed, the gas accumulates and forces the liquid back, so that liquid and solid are no longer in contact and the reaction stops.
