Water Jet Vacuum Pump, Glass
Water jet vacuum pump in borosilicate glass 3.3 for vacuum circuits in laboratory equipment.
The total length is 320 mm and the upper diameter of the tube is 18 mm (ø) which is connected to the water circuit. The water pressure must be at least 4 kg/cm².
The side extension tube is 10 mm ø to connect to the system, usually a Kitasato flask, by means of a rubber tube.
The vacuum pressure of this instrument is maximum 17 mm Hg (approximate).
Water Jet Vacuum Pump, Glass
This is an instrument for laboratory equipment to produce a vacuum in a confined space by means of water flow. It is used in reduced pressure distillation processes; filtration and separation processes; and for the aspiration of liquids.
Usage:
1. The upper outlet of the tube must be connected to a water tap.
2. The olive or side tube is connected to the laboratory equipment to generate the vacuum.
3. When the tap is opened, the water will pass through the narrowing inside the tube, causing the velocity of the water to increase and producing a suction of the air, the Venturi effect.
A water pressure of 4 kg/cm² is required for proper operation and will generate a vacuum of approximately 17 mm Hg.
