47mm Glass Filter Holder, Ground Joint & 1,000ml Flask
Complete filtration system with a 1-litre ground-glass mouth flask and 47 mm membrane.
Vacuum filtration system designed for particle contamination analysis and HPLC solvent filtration. Constructed from borosilicate glass, it includes a 300 ml graduated funnel, a 1000 ml flask, and an anodised steel clamp.
The vacuum connection is integrated into the base with a 47 mm porous plate.
Glass filtration equipment with 1 liter flask and 47 mm membrane
This system comprises a flask and funnel with a 47 mm membrane, mainly used in laboratories for liquid filtration to separate dissolved or suspended solids.
It is made of borosilicate glass 3.3, known for its excellent chemical resistance to water, saline solutions, acids, bases, and organic solvents. It is only affected by hydrofluoric acid and, at high temperatures, by b bases and phosphoric acid.
Likewise, it is consists of the following laboratory components:
1000 ml conical flask with 40/38 male ground glass joint
Base with porous plate for 47 mm membrane filters, with 40/38 female ground glass joint and 10 mm diameter hose barb for vacuum tube connection.
300 ml graduated funnel
Anodised aluminium clamp
Operation:
Preparation: Place the membrane in the funnel.
Assembly: Insert the funnel into the flask's neck.
Connection: Attach the flask to a vacuum pump using a hose.
Filtration: Pour the liquid into the funnel. The vacuum generated by the pump draws the liquid through the membrane, retaining particles or microorganisms and allowing the clean filtrate to be collected in the flask.
Collection: Once filtration is complete, the clean filtrate is in the flask and the particles or microorganisms remain on the membrane.
Uses: This equipment is utilised in microbiological analysis, quality control, scientific research, solution preparation, and any process requiring the separation of fine particles or microorganisms from a liquid. The choice of membrane (material and pore size) depends on the specific application and filtration requirements.
Spare parts: The various parts that make up the filtration equipment can be purchased separately; see below for more details.
